Tarot-To-Go Reader’s Code of Ethics
We think it’s important for our clients to know what to expect when they make an appointment for a reading or book a reader for their event. Below is the Tarot-To-Go Reader’s Code of Ethics, which all of our readers observe in their reading practice, which allows our clients to make an informed choice when they choose a reading with us.
Tarot-To-Go Reader’s Code of Ethics
I am not a fortune teller. I do not claim to be able to tell fortunes, forecast, or otherwise predict the future.
What I do:
I offer a Tarot card reading so that my clients can use the images to stimulate their thinking and creativity regarding matters in their lives which are of interest to them at the present time.
I serve the best interests of my clients, conducting my professional activities without causing or intending to cause harm. I give the most fair and impartial reading, to the best of my ability, to everyone who comes to me, regardless of my personal feelings in the matters presented by my client. I treat all my clients with equal respect, regardless of their national origin, race, religion, gender, age, ethnicity, marital status, family status, sexual preference, or other personal characteristics.
I do not predict the future. References to future events in a reading are reflective only of possibilities based on present circumstances as narrated by my client, and are not intended as a definitive picture or prediction of what will happen in the client’s life.
I do not give specific advice, and I will not tell the client that they should or should not pursue a particular course of action. The client makes their own choices about how to live their life.
I do not claim to be able to assist clients in recovering lost memories of this or any past life, even if the client states that they believe in reincarnation or the ability to remember past lives. I work with the client as they are here and now in their life.
I will not perform a reading for a third party; I work only with the client who is present at my table.
I never ask a client to come back for more readings. If a client chooses to contact me for further readings, it is entirely their choice. I will respect my clients’ right to refuse a reading or to terminate their reading at any time.
I do not recommend any specific spiritual practices or rituals. My role as a reader is to offer insights to assist the client in recognizing and dealing with current issues on their own terms, and with respect for my client’s beliefs.
I represent honestly my Tarot qualifications, including education and years of experience.
I keep confidential the names of clients and all information shared or discussed during readings, unless required to disclose such information by a court of law or as required in any legal proceeding, or unless I believe remaining silent may jeopardize the safety of my client or another person.
I am not qualified to provide, and do not provide, medical, legal, financial, spiritual, or psychological advice. I will recommend clients consult appropriate professionals for such advice. If trained in one of these areas, I will not provide such advice during the Tarot reading, nor will I solicit the client to consult me for such advice outside of the reading.
I will answer every question honestly and to the best of my ability. I will ask if the client has any questions about the reading, and will clarify any card that the client does not understand. I will do my utmost to ensure that all the client’s questions are answered fully before the client leaves the table.
